Do you have items in your house that you're no longer using, but think a fellow veg-head would get lots of use out of?  Vegan Cookbooks, Books, Documentaries, Vegan T-Shirts, etc.  Bring it with you to SWVF and stop by the Mad Carrot Swap!  Drop of your items you no longer use or stop by see and what you could take home with you or grab to give to a friend that interested in the veg-life.

Bunny Hop 

Ages 5 to 11 years old will put on their hopping gear and hop their way to the finish line. Here's what the winner will hop away with:

Purchase your kiddo's spot on ticket link. Sign-ups available day of the event as well. Cash or card will be accepted. Go to the SouthWest VegFest information booth to register.

Cupcake Eating Contest 

Who can eat the most cupcakes in 90 seconds? Put on your stretchy pants and prepare to shove as many vegan cupcakes into your face as you can. 
Here's what the winner will go home with:

  • $100 in cash.

  • Cupcake Trophy!

  • Bragging Rights!

  • All participants get a belly full of yummy vegan cupcakes.

  • All profits from the Cupcake Eating Contest will be donated to Goats with Horns Animal Sanctuary.

Adults only, please (18+). Limited ticket availability (get your ticket now before they sell out!) purchase your spot on ticket link. Last spot will be raffled off day of the event, raffle ticket purchase will be $10 cash or card will be accepted. Mesa Public Library Presents Story Time!  1:45PM under the Enchanted Forest

Sarah is a children’s librarian at the Red Mountain Branch of Mesa Public Library. She has been leading storytimes and providing programs to children and caregivers in a library setting since 2013. She is a passionate, dedicated, and creative librarian that thoroughly enjoys getting children excited about reading by providing exciting and interactive storytimes!


Sarah has her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Sciences with a Certificate in Youth Services from Dominican University and she has also been a vegan for over 5 years now. Pigs are her favorite animal and she even had a pair of bride and groom pigs on her wedding cake when she married her husband, who is also vegan! In her spare time, Sarah enjoys going to antique malls and thrift stores, collecting vintage books, and reading and watching the news. In addition, she also loves baking and perfecting allergy friendly vegan recipes. She also manages a Facebook page, Feminist Librarian, at and runs a storytime blog at
